God is Faithful
August 9th, 2019
Hello,
God continues to be Faithful:
“... I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
Jermiah 31:3
First, a big thank you!
Thank you ALL for your prayers and support through this transition. I can not express how grateful I am. God has blown me away numerous times by the number of people that he has used to encourage me.
Second, UPDATE!
I wanted to give an update, share some praises and some prayer request with you. On July 27th I left Word of Life and headed home. I was home for 2 very shorts days. I started this adventure on July 30th. I arrived in Balfate Honduras on the 31st. This was very terrifying and exciting at the same time. I have made numerous moves in my life but never alone or to another country. Its crazy how God has used the past moves in my life to help me adjust and see early on the potential for where He has brought me. That is something that has been very beneficial for this transition. I am struggling with the language. However, I am working on getting a tutor through the Spanish Institute of Honduras. I am praying that this will aid my process in learning the language. I have made it my goal that at the end of these 9 months I will be able to share the Gospel in Spanish! It is going to happen.
At El Camino Bilingual school I had two days of training and started classes August 5th. WE JUST FINISHED OUR FIRST WEEK! I loved it. I am a teachers aid for 2nd-3rd grade and 5th-6th grade. I supervise recess for multiple grades and will be monitoring bus routes(as soon as the bus I am suppose to monitor gets fixed). I am the only male that is working at the school so the kids struggled with saying “Mr.” and they love that my name is Chase. They ask “Is Mr. Chase going to chase us”. I have the greatest job and I am so content with where God has brought me.
I do not work at the children's center but my home is next door to the children's center. This has provided unique opportunities to get to build friendships with the kids. Actually, I just had four of the middle school aged boys come knock on my door and ask me to play manhunt(it is really just tag but they like this name better). I am praying for the opportunity to help lead a bible club with some of the kids. The bible club is in the working. This is definitely something I am going to take advantage of while I am here.
PRAISES:
This has not been an easy process and I have to remind myself daily that God has big plans as long as I am willing to be used. With this I praise Him that He is using me, and pray that He will continue to use me. A major praise for a crazy hard but smooth transit. Another praise is for ALL of you and those He has brought into my life here. Again, I praise Him for so perfectly going before me and working out every aspect of His ministry that He has graciously allowed me to be apart of.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please be praying for me as I am learning spanish. I have applied to the Spanish Institute of Honduras. Lord willing I will start classes very soon. Be praying for me as I adjust to this culture. Please be praying with me for finances. I am still not fully funded, but God has provided abundantly during this time. Finally, I ask that you will pray for this ministry and all the work God is doing through Cornerstone.
I am going to continue to strive for what lies ahead:
“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philipians 3:13-14
GOD BLESS
Chase Gray
