God Holds Us Steady
Dear Friends and Family,
I continue to be blown away by the support of my friends and family. Thank you for coming alongside me in this experience and supporting me through prayer and financial support.
I was recently in the United States, this time was filled with lots of special moments with my family and friends. It was a refreshing break and it gave me lots of time to reflect on my work in Honduras.
As per usual it was really really hard to leave my family. My nieces and nephews are growing up before my eyes and I cherish all the memories and moments I get with them while I am home in the states.
My reflection while I was in the states brought me to this- God is holding me steady so that I don't give up. That sounds abrupt but in Him I find my sustainability, in Him I find my hope and joy, in Him I find the strength to continue on. I find that this is probably a relatable statement to many.
Finding yourself at a point where you question what you're doing but knowing full heartedly that God is in control and holding it all together.
Update
I returned back to our Childrens Home a week ago. I am here helping fill in different areas for about two weeks and then I am going to language school for a month. I will be doing classes for 5 hours a day 5 days a week. Along with this I will be living with one of the teachers at the school and joining in many different activities to further my Spanish. I am over the moon excited to dedicate time to just practicing my Spanish. This is going to further help me support the leadership team at our Children's Home as they are only Spanish speaking. In the last six months I have experienced the most immersion in Spanish and it has done me wonders so I am very excited to get exclusive immersion and set aside this time to further my abilities in Spanish.
Exciting news!! For those of you that knew I was searching for a car. I have found one!! Lord willing I will have my new car on Wednesday AND you already know we have plans to celebrate the birthday of one of our boys in the city on Friday!!! I am ecstatic about this. It is going to be such a blessing to have a reliable vehicle that I can use in conjunction with our Home. More details and photos to come!!!
While I was in the states my family (MAINLY MY GRANDMA AND MOM) made all new bedding for our kids in our home. On Tuesday of last week the teen girls and I set up all the beds and the kids were all smiles and EXCITED to go to bed that night and sleep with their new sheets and blankets! It was such a blessing to have my family join me and participate in showing these kids how loved and important they are to not only me but my family as well.
We are on a summer break from school. We do not start school back up until August. This year my job is changing yet again. I will be teaching bible to 1st through 9th grade the first semester. I am very excited about this because it’s what I have wanted to do since the beginning. I would appreciate prayers as I prepare for this new role at the school.
Praises and Prayer Request
Praises
Time with family and friends at home.
The friend that financially supported me in buying a car, and that the search is over !!
Safe travels to and from the States.
The financial support to redo all of the bedding at the home. THE ROOMS LOOK SO GOOD, and it gave the rooms individuality.
For being able to rely on God through every circumstance, it doesn't seem to get easier but it sure does make our faith stronger.
Prayers
I am in the process of joining a sending organization (CTEN). I am currently in the application process. I believe that being a part of a sending organization would aid and support me in my work here. Please let me know if you have any questions about the role of a sending organization for missionaries.
For wisdom in this ministry.
That I would continue to grow in my understanding and ability to communicate in Spanish.
For financial support and that I will be able to get all the necessary funds as I join a sending organization.
Thank you AGAIN and AGAIN!! I would not be able to be here and do what I am doing without your prayers and support. I am humbled by the fact that each of you continue to partner with me in this ministry and entrust in me so much. Please feel free to reach out with prayer request of your own or if you just want to talk!
Join me in this prayer,
God, keep my heart open to what you have for me. May I rely solely on You for strength and to keep me steady in this world.
God Bless,
Chase Gray
