Zeal

In definition the word zeal means to have great enthusiasm or energy about a cause. What are you zealous about? God provides one of the greatest causes to stand for through the gift of His Son. What Jesus did for us two-thousand years ago brings so much hope for the future. Daily it reminds us that our God is bigger than the heartaches of this world. He is bigger than COVID-19. He is bigger than the man-made governments that make decisions that dictate so much of our futures. He is bigger than the sins that we battle daily. He is bigger than Satan and the dark forces working against us. Because of what our God is doing for us and through us everyday we can't lose that zeal for Him. Because of what our God did for us two-thousand years ago and everyday, we can't lose our zeal for Him. HE IS WORTHY.

“Never be lacking in zeal but keep spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

Romans 12:11

Summer Update

The last time that I wrote a letter I was still in Honduras. I’ve been back in the States since the beginning of June and am eagerly awaiting getting back to Honduras. My time in the States has been overall really good. The week after I got back I had the opportunity to be a part of the Missions team for Vacation Bible School at Faith Community Church here in Wyoming. Following Vacation Bible School I was given the opportunity to give a short children's message in front of the church. This one opportunity has opened up so many doors to build relationships and ministry partnerships with people in my community. Faith Community Church has encouraged me abundantly this summer and I am excited to continue to work alongside them.

My summer was jam packed with lots of projects at home and many random trips across the state of Wyoming. I did not end up getting a summer job as I had expected but that doesn’t mean I didn’t stay very busy. A lot of my time was spent helping my parents and other family members get ahead of some of their projects at their houses. I also tried to be very actively involved with my parents' foster kids, which alone can keep you busy from sunup to sundown. In the future I would love to create a program integrating Wyoming foster youth with raising horses, and fortunately this summer gave me a lot of experience with this. It was really cool to have a dream solidified. I look forward to the future and hopefully starting my youth ranch. Amazing kids and amazing horses.

I had seven of my friends travel from all over the US to visit my home in Wyoming. And when I say all over, I really mean all over; Maine, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Michigan, Florida, and Tennessee. As a group we adventured through the state of Wyoming and even some of South Dakota. It was an extreme blessing to get to be in fellowship and spend quality time with some of my best friends.

I wish I could wrap up this letter by telling you that I have a countdown to my return to Honduras, but we live in a world full of so many unknowns right now. As of right now, the country of Honduras is saying on the 17th of this month commercial flights for international travelers will open. There are many requirements involved for travel, including a PCR test 72 hours before entering, 14 day quarentine after entering and all the other joys of traveling within a country that is shut down. I covet your prayers for patience as I await more information.

Praises and Prayers

Praises

I am so extremely thankful for this break and for all the experiences God gave me this summer. I can’t help but be abundantly grateful for Faith Community Church, my family and friends, time back on the ranch, and for a God that is working out all the details of my future.

Prayer

  • Please pray for the opening of borders and for less restricted international travel.

  • Pray for those who are still currently on the field in Honduras, that they will get the rest that they need.

  • Pray for El Camino Bilingual School and that we will be given permission to open the doors to our students.

  • Please pray that as I start to prepare to go back to Honduras that God will provide all that is needed spiritually, physically, and financially.

THANK YOU for everything that you do for me. With your prayers, support and daily encouragement I always feel loved and supported.

THANK YOU
